Spinney Abbey is three-quarters of a mile west of Wicken Village, just off the A1123. (Grid reference: TL 555 718) It and provides the ideal base for touring the remarkable natural history and heritage of the Fens, Cambridge and the North Norfolk Coast. Within a few miles is the historic city of Ely, with its magnificent cathedral, and the town of Newmarket, the heart of British horseracing.
The nearest railway station is Ely, although this is about seven miles away. No buses serve Wicken in any useful way. Cycling from Ely to Wicken is very straightforward and a level route.

From Cambridge: Take A10 north (signposted to Ely). At Stretham roundabout take third exit, A1123. We are 3 1/2 miles on the right. Drive down the farm road.
From London: Take M11 north, leave at J9 onto A11, which merges with the A14. Take the A142 North towards Ely, (signposted to Fordham) as far as Soham. At the Soham roundabout (by the garage) take the first exit. Drive right through Wicken village and we are 1/2 mile on the left, down the farm road.
